I can't believe my little man will be 5 months old tomorrow! He is amazing, but of course I think that, I'm his Mommy :)
We recently started getting real full on social laughs. He is kind of stingy with them but from time to time something completely random will crack him up. It's so stinking cute. When you find something that gets him you just want to keep doing it and doing it to exhaustion just to keep hearing that sweet little sound. Try that same thing latter in the day might not get a giggle again though. Then you just have to wait and see what the next random thing he will find to be hilarious.
Earlier this week in the morning during tummy time he flipped from his tummy to his back! I was really starting to think he would flip from back to tummy first because he seems more motivated to move around to see whats going on around him when he is on his back but he proved me wrong! He did it twice that morning but has not done it again since! I can't wait to see it again! I'm almost starting to think I imagined it :) Now I wonder when he is going to start to crawl? (little Henry is only a few weeks older than my little man! Gesh, way to show us up!)
We transitioned him into his crib in his room this week. Mostly because he outgrew his co-sleeper, he is too long for it! So we are putting him down and night in his very own room.
It's not going great, I'm not going to lie. Just as I started to write this section I was called away by a crying baby. He is still getting up fairly frequently and it is hard on this tired Momma to sit and comfort him back to sleep in the rocker in his room instead of propped up in my own cozy bed.
Can I tell you a secret? If he is just feeling a bit too needy and is difficult too get back to sleep (which happens often in the early morning hours, around 3 or 4 am) or if I'm just too tired, he just comes to bed with us. I just throw off all the covers and my pillow and cozy up with him in bed and let him nurse in a side lying position (What a life saver! Great during naps too!) as long as he needs while we are both half asleep. It keeps me sane and rested.
