Hobby Hopping

Inspired by I don't even know exactly what, I decided to learn me some photography skills.  My husband got me a used DSLR (digital single lens reflex) camera for Hanukkah.  AKA fancy shmancy, professional looking, full manual creative control available camera. I'm so excited!

We picked up a used one at a pawn shop to get me started.  I tend to hobby hop.  I like to learn new things.  So we didn't want to spend to much on something new. If I still am into it in a year or two I can upgrade.  Right now I really think I will be.  I am very motivated to be able to have a new creative outlet and one that helps me to both take beautiful posed and candid pictures of my family at that.  I'm so excited!

I still have so much to learn and so much that I want to do.  But I thought I would share some of what I have done so far.  Looking forward to sharing lots more! I'm so excited!
Not sure why he kept walking around the park like this, little cutie.

Mr. Mister and his cousin watching the ducks. We are so lucky we get to see my sister and her little boy pretty much every day!

Trip to the zoo

He kept signing and saying "Z!" when we were talking about the zebra.  He is so interested in the alphabet right now.  He signs the ABC song (as best he can) at a year and a half old believe it or not.

Helping Daddy put together his new play work bench

I also set up a little home studio with a nice white background to take some pictures of my nephew for his upcoming first birthday invitation.  They turned out so nice I did a similar set up to take some pictures of Mr. Mister as well. When I got them printed at Walgreen's they said they would need the photographers written release to print them.  They didn't believe me when I told them I took them myself in my home.  That kind of made my day!  Did I mention I am so excited to have a new hobby!?!  So excited!
